Combining 20 years of real world conversion experience with cutting edge technology, we have been able to craft a world class right hand drive Dodge Ram. Built for the tough Australian conditions and Australian Design Rule ( ADR ) approved as either RAWS (used) or New Vehicle Compliance.

Our conversion is a full steering conversion, we do not use any linkages or chains to join left to right. We manufacture a brand new right hand drive version of the factory steering box that is fitted to the right hand chassis rail along with a new panhard rod and  drag link. At no point are any factory steering or suspension linkages cut and welded.

The conversion process includes the production of a new dash, heater unit, wiring loom, wiper conversion, seat and window control panels, rear view mirror realignment, fitment of additional passenger entry grab handles and the metrification of dash gauges. All components manufactured are benchmarked to either meet or exceed the durability and finish of the original factory units. This includes the replication of the factory leather dash skin and use of all factory dash vents for proper function of both air conditioning and the demister.

We re-utilize factory consumable/service items such as steering joints, wiper blades and air conditioning filters to ensure lifelong ease of parts availability.

Throughout our conversion process we thoughtfully take the time to re-engineer some small areas in the vehicle to heighten customer satisfaction and reliability of an already sturdy vehicle. This includes the addition of extra tough casing that wraps exposed wiring looms, fuel lines and even the insulation of factory air conditioning lines. While the cabin is stripped of left hand drive components we take advantage of the easy access and also add additional sound insulation to the inside of the firewall. It’s these small steps, amongst many others that sets American Vehicle Sales conversion’s apart.

One particular aspect of our conversion on the Dodge Ram is the increase in space available in the right hand foot well along with the addition of a foot rest for the new drivers side. Without this done, there is simply no room for the drivers feet.
